Description Nutmeg essential oil is derived using steam distillation method from the seeds of a fleshy red fruit. The fruit was produced in an evergreen tree that grows as high as 20 meters in height. The exterior husk of the fruit is dried and is used to produce mace essential oil, whereas the seeds are used to produce the essential oil. Originated in Indonesia, the oil is widely used in India for curing intestinal diseases
